New York, June 2, 2017 – With the Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) market in hyper-growth and cyber security threats rising, industry leaders including Ed Fox, MetTel VP of Network Services, and MetTel partner and VeloCloud CEO Sanjay Uppal will converge at Light Reading’s SD-WAN Strategies for Success event in Dallas on June 6 to address integrated security solutions and other aspects of this hot market.
Senior executives from AT&T, BT Americas, and Verizon, and research firm Heavy Reading, among others, will also participate.
As part of the main agenda, the participants will discuss SD-WAN Solution Strategies: From Appliance-based to Network Function Virtualization with a panel on “Differentiation that SD-WAN affords in Service, Software and Security.” The focus will be on the agility, automation and programmability of SD-WAN networks as well as their pivotal role in securing and monitoring the end-to-end network and the applications consuming it.
SD-WAN has emerged as an essential offering for telecommunications service providers as more businesses look for flexible and secure ways to connect to cloud services over existing broadband networks, ever searching to achieve more powerful bandwidth and greater cost-efficiency.
Initially launched as an appliance with the potential to reduce dependence on costly MPLS-WAN, SD-WAN has rapidly become a managed services offering, one which any provider hoping to serve the business market must have in its portfolio. That includes traditional telecom network operators, solution service providers, managed service providers and cable operators. How these different players approach this new market varies, as do the tools and technologies they need to succeed.
As one indicator of the market, MetTel’s SD-WAN business has accelerated to a 70 percent growth rate in terms of customer engagement volume.
