Washington Technology:
MetTel, an upstart in the government market, has been tapped by the Marine Corps to provide internet connectivity to Recruiting Command centers around the globe. Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but MetTel will be replacing T-1 lines with high bandwidth internet service.
The Recruiting Command centers seek to attract high-quality candidates to the Marine Corps. Download speeds at the some of the centers will increase from 1.5-to-25 megabits per second. Costs will go down by as much as 70 percent, the company said.
MetTel will also provide help desk services, invoicing and billing oversight to reduce network downtime and reduce costs.
